What you should know about:

the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC)

The Electronic Registration Information Center’s (ERIC) mission is to help states improve the accuracy of voter rolls, increase access to voter registration for all eligible citizens, reduce elections costs, increase efficiency in elections, and quickly identify possible cases of double voting.

WHY ERIC IS GOOD FOR NH

ERIC analyzes voter registration and motor vehicle department data, provided by their members through secure channels, along with official federal death data and change of address data, in order to provide their members with various reports. State election officials use these reports to update their voter rolls, remove ineligible voters, investigate potential illegal voting, or provide voter registration information to individuals who may be eligible to vote.

ERIC was created by state election officials and is controlled by state election officials. State election officials govern ERIC and fund its day-to-day operations through the payment of annual dues. States voluntarily join, and only they have the authority to vote on the direction of ERIC.

ERIC enhances election security and ensures the accuracy of voter lists. Having up-to-date, accurate voter registration lists is key to maintaining secure elections. Functioning as a unique, nonpartisan system, ERIC facilitates secure information sharing among states and serves as a vital tool for election officials to prevent individuals from registering and attempting to vote in multiple states.

WHAT IS ERIC?

The Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization created by and composed of state election officials from around the United States. Founded in 2012, ERIC is funded and governed by states that choose to join.

ERIC is the most effective tool available to help election officials maintain more accurate voter rolls and detect possible illegal voting. ERIC also helps states reach out to potentially eligible but not yet registered individuals with information on how best to register to vote.
